Intracranial aneurysm occured frequently in middle or older age grop with a peak at 5th and 6th decade. During the period from January 1980 to december 1993, 1074 aneurysms were operated on the department of neurosurgery, Pusan Paik hospital, Inje university. Of these, 17 cases occured under 18 years of age in same period.
The average age was 12.4 years(range 4 to 18 years). Presenting signs and symptoms is subarachnoid hemorrage in 13 cases and focal neurological deficits in 4 cases. The operative methods were clipping in 13, trapping in 2. aneurysmorrhaphy in 1 and proximal ligation in 1. The operative results were excellent in 70.5%, good in 23.5% and poor in 5.9%.
